For every employer in this country, climbing healthcare costs has been a continuing concern. While the right plan design can have a positive
impact on an employer's bottom line, there is an additional step that an employer often overlooks which can further reduce their cost.

Wellness Programs have been promoted as a way for an employer to further reduce their healthcare costs, reduce absenteeism, and
increase productivity. A properly designed wellness program encourages increased physical activity, positive changes to diet, a smoking
cessation program and regular preventative doctor visits, all which have proven to have a positive impact on reducing healthcare cost.

In order to get positive results, employers must lead the way by incorporating health improvement strategies into plan discussions and
commit to making health and well being part of the culture of their company.
